your game up, Kendara. ”, Untuk kali ini jangan beranjak kemana-mana, gue
yakin pasti kalian ingin membaca artikel yang satu ini.
I know you’re asking yourselves “What? Another coverage
article at Sentul?! Step your game up, Kendara.”, but bear with me, you might
want to have a look into this.
Karena saat ini adalah bulan suci Ramadhan, dan seperti
tradisi di Indonesia, orang yang berpuasa biasanya menghabiskan beberapa jam
terakhir sebelum Maghrib - atau waktu berbuka puasa - untuk melakukan kegiatan
apa pun yang bisa mereka lakukan tanpa harus melanggar / membuat batal puasa
mereka, sekedar untuk membunuh waktu, dikenal juga sebagai ngabuburit.
Since it’s the holy month of Ramadhan, and as is tradition
here in Indonesia, fasting people usually spend the last few hours before Maghrib – the time to break their fast –
doing whatever activity they could do without breaking their fast that is, just
to kill time, also known as ngabuburit.
Dan seperti tradisi selama beberapa tahun terakhir terhitung
sejak 2014, Goodrides tidak pernah melewatkan Ramadhan tanpa mengadakan acara trackday sambil ngabuburit tahunan
mereka yaitu Fastin' Fast Out. Trackday mungkin belum terlalu populer di sini,
di mana image balapan itu sendiri
dianggap sebagai sebuah aktivitas yang mahal, akan tetapi orang-orang yang ada
di Goodrides telah menjadi the Good
Samaritans (bercanda haha :D)
mereka mengadakan trackday ini agar siapapun bisa ikut, disertai dengan
regulasi keselamatan yang memadai, dan acara ini pastinya seru abis!
And as is tradition for the past couple of years since 2014,
Goodrides have never missed a single Ramadhan without holding their annual ngabuburit trackday called Fastin’ Fast
Out. You see, public trackdays aren’t very popular over here where the image of
racing itself is considered an expensive activity, but the guys behind
Goodrides have been the Good samaritans (pun intended) as they started holding
public trackdays where everyone can participate in, have adequate safety
regulations, and are just down right awesome!
Trackday Fastin' Fastout tahun ini, atau FIFO, diadakan pada
Sabtu lalu, 26 Mei 2018 berlangsung di, kalian sudah pasti tau, Sirkuit Internasional
Sentul. Dimulai pada pukul 7 pagi untuk sesi pendaftaran, lanjut dengan sesi
briefing, latihan lap untuk semua peserta, dan event utama pada hari itu, Hot Lap Challenge, yang akan kami
ceritakan lebih lanjut lagi.
This year’s Fastin’ Fastout trackday, FIFO for short was
held last Saturday the 26th of May 2018 taking place at, you guessed
it, Sentul International Circuit. Starting as early as 7 o’clock in the morning
for the registration session, followed by a briefing session, practice laps for
all participants, and the main attraction of the day, the Hot Lap Challenge,
which we will dive into later in this write up.
Kami tiba di track
saat Hot Lap Challenge dimulai, area paddock tidak seramai seperti biasanya
saat event ISSOM digelar, ada berbagai macam mobil yang menarik parkir disana.
We arrived at the track just in time for the start of the
Hot Lap Challenge, and though the paddocks weren’t as crowded as they were
during ISSOM races, the variety of cars sitting around were quite interesting
nevertheless.
Seperti yang kalian ketahui, gue merupakan seorang penggemar
berat mobil yang mematahkan status quo dari penggunaan mobil itu sendiri,
anehnya, bahwa ada beberapa dari mereka yang bermunculan di FIFO 2018, seperti
Proton Savvy yang satu ini menggunakan decals
yang bertemakan balapan.
As you might notice, I’m a diehard fan of cars that tend to
break the status quo of their purpose, the oddballs, and it’s safe to say that
there had been quite a few turning up on FIFO 2018, such as this Proton Savvy
rocking all its race themed decals.
Kami tidak menghabiskan banyak waktu di tikungan S besar
pada hari itu, karena cuaca sangat panas dan tidak memungkinkan juga bagi kami
untuk minum, akhirnya kami memutuskan untuk berteduh di sekitar area pit, dan
di area tribun.
We didn’t spend much time at the S-bends that day, as it was
very hot and we couldn’t have anything to drink, so we decided it was a good
idea to stick around the shades by the pits, and later at the grand stands.
Toyota Corolla KE70 ini jadi mobil oddball favorit saya, lihat saja, stiker JDM Hello Kitty yang
ditempel dan memiliki beberapa aksen warna pink di beberapa bagian pada mobil.
Walapun bukan mobil yang tercepat, tapi mobil ini paling memiliki karakter!
This KE70 Toyota Corolla is officially my favorite oddball
that day, just look at it copping those JDM Hello Kitty stickers all around and
having all the subtle pink accents around the car. Though it was not the
fastest car around, it definitely was the one with the most character!
Area pit menjadi bagian paling crowded, dengan booth
dari sponsor, Goodrides selaku panitia dan pit dipenuhi oleh mobil para peserta
yang siap untuk masuk ke lintasan sirkuit.
The pits were the most crowded area that day, with sponsor
booths, Goodrides committee booth, and all the participant pits filled with
cars getting ready to get out on the track.

Sayangnya, kami gak sempat untuk ngobrol dengan siapapun,
karena semua sedang sibuk masing-masing, jadi kami pikir sudah saatnya untuk
pergi dari pit dan pindah ke tribun Sentul yang cukup eerie. Cukup mengejutkan buat kami, karena disini kami berhasil
mendapat beberapa foto yang bagus, tolong dicatat, bahwa kami masih mengasah
skill fotografi.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to strike a conversation with
anyone that day as everyone had been busy doing their thing, so we thought it
was time to leave the pits and started to move on to the eerie grand stands of
Sentul. To our surprise, we got some pretty good shots of the straights from
there, mind you, we’re still working on our photography skills.

Gue adalah tipe orang yang selalu save the best for last, jadi beberapa foto berikut ini adalah oddball yang lagi bertempur

I’m the type of guy who likes to save the best for last, so
here’s a couple of shots of the oddballs battling it out on their respective
runs. Look at that Chevrolet Aveo Sedan go!
